Mikin V Patel, MD, MBA completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center and, after graduation, joined the faculty in the section of Interventional Radiology at the University of Arizona Medical Center. He now returns to the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Patel is double board certified in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, has authored publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, and presented abstracts at national conferences. His clinical interests include interventional oncology, treatment of liver tumors, deep vein thrombosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and uterine fibroids. In addition to his clinical work, his research interests include healthcare quality improvement, comparative effectiveness, and operations management. He has served a number of committee positions in local health systems, regional public health advisory boards, and nationally for the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR).

Dr. Patel also believes in the importance of education in order to advance the field of interventional radiology. He mentored many students, residents, and fellows as the Associate Program Director for the Interventional Radiology residency program at the University of Arizona. He has been invited to speak to peers at a number of regional symposiums and national meetings about the newest advancements in interventional radiology. Through his clinical work, research, and education, Dr Patel strives to bring the best care to patients at the University of Chicago and beyond.
