Christopher M. Straus M.D. is a Professor of Radiology and Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Radiology at the University of Chicago. He also serves nationally at multiple radiology professional organizations in areas relating to his interest in education, especially related to undergraduate and medical students, as well as continuing maintenance education of port-graduates. He has served as president of the Association of Medical Student Educators in Radiology (AMSER) and known for mentoring and innovation in medical school curricula. Dr. Straus has individually mentored and advised over 150 students, in addition to advising approximately 200 undergraduate students annually. Among various awards received include the Excellence in Education award, American Association of Medical Colleges Humanism in Medicine Award and indoctrination in the Alpha Omega Alpha society (AOA). Research areas include educational learning, mesothelioma and medical image utilization.
