Why is Radiology important?

As a Breast Imager I feel that am integral to the care team of the breast cancer patient.

Biography

Erin Neuschler, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine.  She completed both her Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Breast Imaging Fellowship at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine after completing both undergraduate and medical school at Northwestern University as a part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. She currently serves as the Cancer Center Liaison for Breast Imaging at University of Illinois at Chicago and is a delegate to the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital.  Her research interests include opto-acoustic imaging, automated whole breast ultrasound, breast atypias, and breast MRI.  She served as the national Co-Principal Investigator for a multicenter FDA trial of an opto-acoustic imaging device, which fuses real time co-registered, interleaved laser optic and ultrasound imaging.  In addition to a commitment to education and research, she also is dedicated to organized medicine.  She currently serves as the President of the Chicago Radiological Society.
