The Diagnostic Radiology Residency program at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine provides the education and experience necessary to become a skilled general diagnostic radiologist.
The program emphasizes all subspecialties of diagnostic radiology including interventional radiology, cardiac imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, pediatric radiology, ultrasonography, and women's imaging. The radiology departments at the affiliated hospitals, Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospital Springfield, Illinois comprise the physical facilities of the program.
The radiology departments at the affiliated hospitals have 41 faculty members. The size of the program combined with the large number of faculty ensures extensive contact between residents and faculty.
