Why is Radiology important?

Radiology is so important for the field of medicine because we can see what is going on inside of the body. Not only that, as a Radiologist, we are trained to identify what is normal and abnormal, and we can interpret the images to provide insight to the clinicians about what is going on with their patients.

Dr. Catherine Kim-Gavino attended Wellesley College for her undergraduate education. She went to the University of Illinois in Chicago College of Medicine for Medical School. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois, and a Neuroradiology Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Kim-Gavino is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. She is the Medical Director of MRI of River North and Premier MRI of Schaumburg, outpatient MRI facilities under Akumin.
